About Management Information Systems Department

The Management Information Systems Department serves as the centralized technical support for GRIC departments. The department generally provides the following services: Project planning and management; network operations; e-mails; Internet/Intranet access; security; technical service and support; training and standardization of information technology systems. The Management Information Systems Department is comprised of eight divisions; Administration, Security, Help Desk, Data Center, Public Safety, Support, Network, and Database.

Provide information to members of the community. This website was established November 12, 2007.

GilaRiver.org
Official community website, that provides information about GRIC to the rest of the world via internet access. This website was established May 10, 2007.

Employee Intranet
Provides GRIC workforce with relevant government information. This page was transferred from the MIS Department to CPAO on August 15, 2012.

Gila River Facebook
Allows us to share community information to our friends of Gila River Facebook. This page was established on September 25, 2009.

About the Office of Special Funding

The Office of Special Funding administers the State Shared Gaming Revenues to various cities, towns and counties for government services that benefit the general public in accordance with the Tribal-State Gaming Compact. The areas that the Gila River Indian Community will concentrate 12% of its annual contribution will be: public safety, transportation, Health Care Services, Economic Development and Education. The Office of Special Funding administers a wheelchair and scooter loaner program for eligible dialysis patients on the Gila River Indian Community.

About Youth Council

The Akimel O'odham/Pee-Posh Youth Council is a program designed for young people between the ages of 13-21. The purpose of the program is to provide the youth a voice but also to help them find their voice and build the confidence to use their voice. The Youth Council Members go through training in the following areas: culture & language, ethics, self-esteem building, project management, & more. The members are also responsible for representing their peers at the community, state, & national levels. If you have a young person who is interested in learning more about their community and is willing to challenge themselves, this is the perfect program for them.

The Akimel O'odham/Pee-Posh Youth Council hosts several events throughout the year: Annual Gila River Youth Conference, Annual Gila River Close Up Event, Annual Youth Meeting, Annual Youth Council Inauguration, & district events.
